can i re-pot my chutney?

i made some rhubarb chutney a couple of months ago and didn't have any wax toppers. i've just found some and wondered if i could re-pot it. I know the cling film i put on will have disintegrated, but i could scrape that off ( i knew i would have to anyway).
Will i need to reboil it?

I'm unsure what would be achieved by reboiling.
Will the cling film have disintegrated ? I've eaten chutney stored in a cling film covered pot, and it seemed in one piece.

You could try feeding some to your husband / significant other / pet / grandma.

I beg to differ, I think yes you should reboil it. mucking it about leaves it wide open to bacteria, you don't all want to go down with food poisening. To be safe Yes.

old geezer - do you mean it will be ok as it is now? will it last as long?

All I know is that my woman's mother makes batches of chutney every now and again. They are covered with cling film under the screw lid. I tend to keep it in the fridge once opened, but never had any problems with it.
