I do, but it does tend to go a bit hard in the microwave. Maybe it steams better ?
personally i wouldn't. Most food poisoning frpom take aways comes from the rice. Plus it's already been cooked, cooled and reheated once. plus i like cold chinese!
Well you get Uncle Bens ready made rice...
As OG says, it can go a bit hard in the micro. Add a teaspoon of water and gently reheat in the mico for 30 secs. Alternatively, melt marg in a frying pan and reheat gently.

I think the re-heat gently is the answer :D

hmm,might just make some more......
<<got some egg fried rice from the chinky last night>>

The last time someone innocently used the word "chinky" on here there was hell on.
I remember that...
I thought that was a lot longer ago than July 10th.......

sorry,'the chinese takeaway'.
i only wanted to ask about the rice not bring a debate up....
Don't worry about it pinkcowprint. The last time it happened, long before July 10th lol, was in news...
IMO only the most oversensitive could take offence at what you refer to the business as. As long as the customers came in, I'm fairly sure any proprietor isn't going to mind.

Hmmm does that mean the local Indian take-away is the Indie ?
Question Author
could i keep the rice in the foil tray and warm in the oven?
I would sprinkle with water first though.....
It's not how you reheat it, or where you reheat it. It must be piping hot all the way through, and I mean piping hot

"Cooked rice which has been properly cooled and refrigerated or frozen may be reheated by adding one-half cup liquid per quart of cooked rice. Cover and heat thoroughly on top of range or in oven to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Rice should be served immediately. Subsequent leftovers should be discarded."
You may do what you like with it. Just advise not keepnig it too long before finishing it up. The next day should be fine.
Well it's up to you but it can give you food poisoning.
The advice from the food standards agency is as follows :

There are a few things to remember when you are storing and reheating cooked rice and grains. This is because the spores of some food poisoning bugs can survive cooking.

If cooked rice or grains are left standing at room temperature, the spores can germinate. The bacteria multiply and produce toxins that can cause vomiting and diarrhoea. Reheating food won't get rid of the toxins.

Therefore, it's best to serve rice and grains when they've just been cooked. If this isn't possible, cool them within an hour after cooking and keep them refrigerated until reheating or using in a cold dish.

You should throw away any rice and grains that have been left at room temperature overnight.

Don't keep cooked rice and grains for longer than two days and don't reheat them more than once. Check the 'use by' date and storage instructions on the label for any cold rice or grain salads that you buy.
NO...bin it!

It would have been ok if you'd put it in the fridge as soon as it was cool...NOT this morning.
And...if re-heated - it must be to a very high temp, not gently.
Rice, if stored/re-heated improperly, develops a type of spore - Bacillus cereus -that is notorious for making people very ill indeed.
No I wouldn't reheat it.
If you had put it straight in the fridge rather than let it cool to room temp first it would have been OK but as i understand it the little spores that can cause food poison grow faster at room temp, rice well any food really) needs to be cooled quickly.
this is why I never keep rice overnight, knowing me it would make me ill
ahhhh other replys were not there when I hit submit!
