We will probably have turkey. I rather fancy a goose but I doubt I'll convince him to try that instead...

mmmm lamb shanks havent had that for ages
.and then to be really sick I may have some cream filled brandy snaps.
No idea, I am going to friends even though I'm not sure I want to. They have told me they won't let me be on my own.
Jan I lied for years saying that I was going to so and so's instead, after a few years I got found out :-(
that sounds nice too

Jan if you don't want to go don't go, but will you be ok on your own?
every year my friends/family ask me every year i tell them to bugger off
Turkey on Christmas day and pork on Boxing day - we always do that !
I tried that craft and said that I was going to my sister's and told my sister I was going to my friends. Didn't know they had swapped phone numbers when they met at Gary's funeral so they checked up on me.

Do whatever suits you, Jan. x

I had lamb shanks in minted gravy t'other week. Yummy.
Jan if you want to be on your own then put your foot down
Sorry NoMercy, I seem to have killed your thread. It's just I don't want to bring anyone else down at Christmas because I'm not enjoying myself but seems like I already have. Ok, I'll go for plan B then, just drink my way through Christmas and then I won't notice. Not sure what date to start on though, do you think 1st Dec would be too early? xx

Lol Jan. It's never too early. I'm having a cheeky glass of shiraz now... X x
Roast pork and a nice free range chicken with honey roast carrots and parsnips, sprouts with lardons and roast potatoes, all washed down with a nice Rioja.

Dave.
Haven't decided yet, what ever I go for it won't be a traditional meal. There's only two of us which makes some dishes difficult to do as they don't scale down very well. I'm thinking about homemade crab ravioli, porchetta with rosemary and garlic roasties, pudding is TBD - maybe a zabaglione. Need to run it past Mr Cake.
I know that I'll have everything ready for a 'proper' Christmas lunch (turkey breast carved from the bone from Morrisons, roast potatoes, parsnips, sprouts, stuffing, etc, etc) but I might not actually bother putting it all together. The last time I was in a similar position I just couldn't be bothered, so I simply microwaved a Findus lasagne instead!
Turkey crown - no bones, yay! All the trimming (shop bought, lots of veg, shop bought gravy). Christmas party food for tea and trifle/ice cream. Boxing Day - joint of ham with brown sugar and cinammon glaze, salad and fresh bread.
I hate Christmas, white meat, yuck, nice bit of sirloin is good. Bloody silly time of year.
Us two are alone Christmas day for the first time ever so we are going to try goose this year.
No idea yet, I'm eyeing up suggestions...
i hav^nt decided on tomorrows dinner yet,,,,,,,,,,,,, its november !
