prunes or dates wrapped in bacon
Devils on horseback are something with oysters. I only know pigs in blankets.

I would say Pigs in Blankets were with bacon as well... I think they're disgusting though =s
Pigs in blankets are most certainly wrapped in bacon.

I have also heard them referred to as "kilted sausages".
I agree with your niece, as does Antony Worrall Thompson:

But Nigella is on your side!

think angels on horseback are oysters or scallops wrapped in bacon

Just been googling - very confusing sausgaes/prunes in bacon, sausages/prunes in pastry, all getting the same 2 names. Seems the pigs in blanket came from America according to one of the sites.
Definitely cocktail sausages wrapped in streaky bacon. A must with the Christmas turkey.

Hello, I'm with your neice on this one!
Kilted sausages - I made them at school years and years ago
Definitely 'devils on horseback'.
Devils on horseback are prunes not sausages methinks. Pigs in blankets as I know them are sausages in bacon...
