venison meatballs, what to have with....

I have venison meatballs defrosting for dinner. Looking for inspiration for what to have with it. All I can think of is tinned tomatoes, with garlic, herbs & bit of chili, served with pasta.

Anyone got more imagination than me?

Red cabbage cooked with some grated apple is lovely with venison. If you have a Lidl nearby, they do a really nice German red cabbage that is slightly pickled and ideal for this! Enjoy!

Saute sliced mushrooms and chopped onions, add a few tablespoons of blackcurrant jam (trust me it's fab) and some red wine until you get the right consistency. Use the pan you cooked the meatballs in while they are resting. Yum
