I send small light weight items every so often at my local post office. I know it always cost £1.09 postage as its always 1st class and know the weight of the parcel.

Is it possible to send off the parcel direct myself through the letter box using the normal 1st class stamps adding up to the amount of £1.09 rather then queuing up at the post office all the time ?

Please help.

Don't think that this is a parcel - it's a "packet". If you can post it in a post-box, then just stick on the correct postage and into the post-box.

Sorry, yes, it is a packet. So could i just add up the correct postage up to the amount £1.09 using 1st class stamps then ?
Yes I do it all the time..........x
If you already know the correct postage then yes you can just put into the letterbox. Problem comes if you need a proof of posting though.
Rather than fuss with the stamps, here in the U.S., our United States Postal Service (USPS) has a excellent web site wherein I can log on (after setting up a simple account) , check postage (plus alternates, such as Priority Mail) and print the lable right off the computer. Actually, on many packages (I ship a lot to Europe, Australia and the U.K.) I save about 25 cents due to the discount. The postal service will pick it up at our mailbox for free, plus on packages I get a tracking number to see where and when it's handled. I'd think your postal service would have something similar...
but you wont have proof of posting if its needed

How much is a 1st class stamp these days?
Why don't you just go to your local Post Office and buy enough £1.09 stamps (that will be a £1 stamp and a 9p stamp) to keep you going for a while? Be aware though that posting items yourself mean you cannot get a proof of postage.
can someone kindly explain the best way of getting a new ringtone on my samsung galaxy ace please TIA
Have you posted in the wrong place, tillyh345?
