Sounds awful when put like that. Has anyone ever cooked swede in a steamer. I normally boil mine and then put it through a ricer, but it holds a lot of water so I wondered if I steamed it, it might not be as watery.

The Co Op have started selling a whole swede in a bag to steam in the microwave, it only takes 9 mins. I was dubious as it is the whole one not sliced or cut. It worked, the best I've ever tasted so give it a go.

Steam it all the time and rarely comes out watery. Main problem is making sure it's not crunchy so it eitehr takes longer than the carrots or has to be cut smaller.
