large stomach?
16 Answers
My other half has been trying to eat healthier foods over the last three weeks (too shrink his stomach) his stomach, however remains rather rounded (43 inches). His stomach isnt wobbly its quite firm (bloated). Is it possible he could have developed an intolerance to wheat gluten, artificial sweetener etc? His bowel are regular and normal which i think may rule out ibs. A typical days diet would be porridge.........quorn burgers and weightwatcher chips............minced beef with potatoe broccoli and carrots.......muller rice ......2 coffee....2 tea.....2 pints of water and one or to pears. He cant eat bananas as they give him bad indigestion.

Once a large store has been built up the only way to deplete it is by forcing the body to use up that store. Limiting the intake of calories to, say, 2000 per day won't make the slightest bit of difference if (due to a sedentary lifestyle) he's only using up 2000 calories per day. EXERCISE is what's needed! Further, that exercise needs to be 'aerobic', in that it should result in the warming of his body (which uses up energy) and/or a bit of 'huffing and puffing'. Walking to the shops (unless they're several miles away) doesn't count!

So presumably we are not talking "fat" here, which is "floppy", the opposite of "quite firm"
I presume that your are saying that his stomach is distended......question is....with what?...gas? .Yes, one can develop and intolerance to food, not as common as people might think, but yes you can.
It doesnt sound a big deal, but if you are both worried, get a routine appointment to see your GP who will "put a hand on" his stomach and settle the issue.

Just looked properly at what you are eating, carbs with every meal, he definitely needs to exercise! Are you having a bun with the burger as well? As Chris said, you should exercise anyway, my husband tried dieting for years but it didn't work til he starting swimming, not suggesting you go as mad as him, start off with brisk walks if you can.
