My best friend has just bought me round the mixture to look after, in my kitchen, for another 10 days.....great!!
Never heard of a Herman cake before....had to 'google' it!
Can't say I fancy cooking & then eating it after it has been on the worktop for 10 days!
Anyone else had one given to them? :-)

I remember my mother making a cake with some goo that someone had given her and then she shared the goo out with her friends.

My daughter did this recently and quite a few times. It was delicious! Different fruits etc. can be used. Keeps for ages and warmed in the microwave, eaten with
cream........yummy. do try it.
not precisely a herman but its the same principle as sourdough starter. I have just started to do this and its fascinating,,,the bread is good too.
I have done one and done another afterwards and cut it up and froze it as it turns out quite large. Very nice .

Perhaps I'll try it :-) !
Honestly the dough is fine at room temperature.
I thought I saw the hairy bikers do a sour dough bread similarly a few weeks back, fascinating !

That`s the only problem. Sharing the goo. There is so much to share you run out of friends.
my daughter was given some of this mix a few weeks ago, she followed the directions, and when the mix was complete shared it with firends, and baked her portion, she said it was really lovely!........
you can freeze or refrigerate any spare goo and use it as you need it if you are Billy no mates.

some `herman variations here
