A bit of a mystery....

In the bottom of my cutlery drawer, I have come across a small but quite heavy stainless steel knife made by H.Wild of Sheffield.
I've never seen it before, so I'm assuming it was my father's at some point, and I've unknowingly inherited it.
It has the logo of Caledonian Airways on it......

Surely a Airline wouldn't hand out metal knives, or if they did, how long ago would it have been?

regards,
bob.

Probably would long time ago, bob.
Don't know... Just wanted to say hi! :)
Could it have been from their staff restaurant maybe?

good point daffy,
but I don't know how any of my family could have got hold of it, unless was a random present.

Hi erin,
how are ya doing? I've been slightly absent for a few weeks, have I missed anything exciting?
I'm very happy today! Got tickets for the Tennent's Vital festival in Belfast this morning... guess who's playing?! ;D

Nothing exciting really... It's been pretty quiet actually. How are you? :)

I'm quite good now thanks hun, I won't bore you with details....

Guess who's playing......... hmmm.... The Military Wives? :-)
Think I remember using metal cutlery on a flight but I`m very old. Can`t take my crochet hook these days.

I know what you mean, gness - a friend of mine had his shoehorn confiscated.....
Pity bob. We could have shoehorned the pilot into a corner and crocheted him to death.
Watch what your saying bob, she's a Redhead lol.
Last time I flew in about 1985 we had proper cutlery provided............
I remember proper cutlery when I flew to Scotland in the 1970s, I remember it because we were allowed to take our cats in the cabin (in their carry basket) and I fed one with a spoon and the cat seized it and took it into the basket....
Yes I had proper cutlery in the 80s, mind you it was also with a proper airline.
Lol Bob! Still can't believe you bet on them! And that they won!! ;D
Caledonian Airways ceased in 2000 (assuming it`s from them and not BCal which disappeared in 1988).

Do you know if they were anything to do with Airtours in the 80s/90s?
That might solve it all.......

Thanks craft,
I keep thinking of changing it, but too many people like it as it is....
