Going Bananas?

Did your parents (mine did) tell you that the dark(stalk) end of the Banana was poisonous/dangerous/bad for you? and if so just what reason did they give for this belief?

Yes! Well it wasn't my parents but i can remember being told it was bad for you and to this day i always eat everything but the end bit!

No, cos I HATE bananas. But my parents used to tell my sister she would grow apple trees in her tummy because she ate every little bit of an apple: core, seeds, stalk, the lot.

No, they made me eat it.  A banana will only be dark where bruised or overripe, no problem there.
