Jersey Royals - not what they were ?

I've just had my third or fourth bag of Jersey Royals for this season - and am deeply disappointed. Not special, not worth the premium and (to be frank) not tasting like proper Jerseys at all.

This isn't just a 'one year' aberration - I think they've been on the slide for a while now. What I'm not sure about is whether they are genuinely getting worse, or whether it's just my memory telling fibs.

I wonder if the fact that you can get quite good 'new' potatoes year round now also takes away the wow factor of the first Jerseys?

But, on balance, I think that something, somewhere has changed and they are just not what they were ?

Did the asparagus put up much of a fight, Sloopie?
We are just attempting to bring relief to the flavourless....
Imagine if you will the miniwilliness ...yeah the dwarvish scale of the french bean the red hattedness of the chantenay carrot.... where the delight of consuming such delicaies is raised to an act of worship of Ab Editor PBUH

Being serious for a nanosecond, sunny-dave, I think what has changed is the supermarkets - pushing for quantity and cheapness has probably forced the farmers to change their growing methods, fertilisers, not seaweed for a start...
I have venator, that how I know what your up to, Ah I see there are now three.
Jersey is too near France, anyway.

Forget the slimy spuds, and come join us in our celebrations - free cakes and bananas...

Don't fight it, tonyav - today Jersey Royals, tomorrow the Answerbank...
And remember the ice cream cone is an inverted gnomish cap and the icecream the gnomish facial hair....

We can get all the good stuff in our dietary rules
I understand, venator lol.
And the season for stuffed marrows is nearly with us.
Is it wise to go there, Humbersloop - Ab Editor is watching.
