Yesterday I went mad and bought a smoothie maker and fruit and had a smoothie fest all day.

By the evening as well as a severe bloated stomach i'd sampled...

Banana and honey
Strawberry
Rasberry
Combination of all of the above, both with milk and orange juice.

Now my swollen stomach has subsided im about to go shopping for more ingredients to inflict more misery on it.

Any tried and tested recipes?

I'm not too fussed about healthy (though I guess I should be!) I just want deliciousness!

The best one Smow, was one id forgotten to write down....a Skittles one, I cannot begin to tell you how good that one was!

Not sure which is best, milk or juice, guess it depends what else you put in with them?

The skittles one was made with milk.

corrr, fancy the coconut milk and banana one Rowan. The coconut milk is the stuff in tins...right?
melt a mars bar in warm milk and blend it with Ice not a smoothie but a good use for the machine
yes a whole tin... its amazing with a shot of rum in as well or some ice cream or both

I suggested a Mars Bar one last night Rowan, but Mr Boo pointed out the smoothie maker was a weak endeavour for us to get healthy whilst inside i was thinking "like hell it is, i just want to fill my belly!", so i might go down the chocolate bar route this afternoon. Watcha reckon to a Milky Way one?
Milkybar is good with a tablespoon of horlicks and chocolate icecream
and a deep fried mars bar is considered yuk ???..
Yuk indeed oil and batter just doesn't go with a mars bar....
one thing we used a smoothie maker for was breakfast shakes... two scoops of whey protein powder, some fruit berries or nanas were best, some silken tofu, and soya milk ground flax seeds for fibre and some ice... really filling

:-P think I'll stick with the fried mars bar thanks Rowan ;-)
a lot nicer than it sounds also nice without the fruit and with chocolate flavour sachet and a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter,,, high protein low carb and tastes like a liquid snickers bar
Frozen mango and pineapple,banana,Greek yogurt.....
Strawberry and raspberry-plus the nana and yogurt
Banana and orange sorbet+yogurt

NO milk. I like them thick enough to stand a spoon in.

oh bugger, forgot yoghurt! Grrrr!

I ended up buying....

Blueberries
Raspberries
Strawberries
Blackberries
coconut milk
cocoa powder
mars bars
orange juice
more milk (going through gallons of it!)
milky ways

I do also have a pineapple in the fridge.
pineapple, melon and mango ice and a little sugar or sweetener

Watermelon and vodka and ice
I have to admit to not understanding the need for sweeteners...isn't the fruit sweet enough?
I normally skip the sweetener unless it is a very sharp fruit but my ex always sweetened hers as she had a very sweet tooth...
I'm really boring and tend to go down the 1/2 a banana, handful of frozen forest fruits and some milk an yogurt.

However, talking to a friend recently who is into juicing he often adds some avocado to his morning juice. Given the number of people who don't like the sliminess that bananas give a smoothie I thought this was a really good idea to get a nice thick, silky texture to a juice/smoothie.
I think that's why I always put bananas in-they take away any tartness....and make it ...smoother. :-0
