Hi there, first of all could i ask is it legal to import horsemeat into the uk? My friend is from a small french province and will be sending me a few kilos of her finest horsemeat which is from free range falabella foals which are a delicacy there.
What does horsemeat taste like and what would be the best way to serve this and with what?

Thanks markrae, not going to eat it raw but am wondering to maybe flatten the steaks with a steak hammer and have it with garlic butter and a red onion and red pepper marmalade.
To the rest of you please grow up this meant to be a serious q&a site I'm pretty sure this is Answerbank and not jokerbank.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Must be served with horseradish sauce.
Oh suspenders!!...I forgot, I don't drink wine!!

'owling with laughter, I think I've made myself a little hoarse
If you had mentioned a breed other than fallbella, you might have been believable, if you had talked about roasting them whole like a suckling pig you might have been believable as it is, not even a good try.
But they are diddly PETS and companion animals!...it'd be like eating your dog....

:-(

and the French call themselves civilised....not!

Are there any slow cooker recipes for whole fellabella...?
Harsh, but fair as ever woof.
Double standards there MarkRae given your post @ 11:14.
Best report me, then...
If you can eat other horse meat why can't you eat falabella?
Apparently they are considered a very rare breed-with only a few thousand in the world. I've googled a bit-and see no mention of them used for their meat...but rather they are pets/companions,and little work horses...with a very long lifespan.
it tastes foal ...

*boom boom*
Neigh lass......
Why would I bother to report a minor irritation? I'm not that petty.
