how do they make alcohol free lager?

Do they evaporate the alcohol and then add the carbon dioxide? Or what?

Yes Alcohol boils at a lower temperature than the main constituent, water, unfortunately most of the flavour boils away too creating a drink that really shouldn't be termed lager. Very little CO2 is in the lager anyway it is only added as a consequence when the lager is pumped from the barrel under CO2 pressure as with normal lager.

Why do they make alchohol free lager? It's the same as vegetarian sausages, if you ask me.

I've just tried drinking half a pint of veggie sausages and they've stuck in my throat.

I've stopped drinking, and I actually like Kaliber, etc just as much as normal lager.
They strain the solids out of the cat's litter tray then bottle it.
The best low alcohol (which is virtually alcohol free) is Becks Low Alchohol, much better than Kaliber. You can get it in Tesco's. Having said that I don't mind Kliber if it's cold enough. The point is it tastes a little bit like larger.

I saw that Beck's in Tesco, but bought Kaliber instead.I bet you all feel better for knowing that. 

Kaliber is quite nice, it is Kronenborg 1664 but without the alcohol..........so obviously not AS nice!

A friend of mine on heavy drugs can't drink alcohol but continues to drink non-alcohol lager so that he doesn't feel left out or excluded when out. He's visiting soon - what's the best 0% beer on the market?

Well, as I say, as a former VERY heavy lager drinker, I personally think Kaliber is as palatable as any "standard" 4%-ish lager.

WoWo prefers the Beck's, which I haven't tried.I've only seen the Beck's in lickle bottles, but the Kaliber is available in cans so...
