Now it looks like rain so I will look awful even when I arrive at the dentists.Great.Drowned rat going in,hamster cheeks going out.
Please wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes.

I am getting one of my big molars yanked out in 24 hours and 2 minutes.

Good luck - you will feel better for it. I am looking forward to being able to eat without spending the rest of the day fishing bits of food out of the hole in my tooth. Maybe I should have tried root canal work!

Good Luck
Don't worry about any pain. Dentists spray an anesthetic onto the area first. Later today you'll be wondering what you made all the fuss about.
Oh good luck, you poor thing x

Thanks wolf63,good luck to you as well.
I used to be a dental nurse and you know what they say about a little knowledge-It is very dangerous!
Best wishes Aya, soon be sorted.
As my oh so sympathetic Dad used to say when we hurt ourselves, "It's only pain!" :)

I do actually find that saying that to myself over and over helps.
You'll be fine, don't worry. Remember dentists do this sort of thing all the time, they are experts.
Just tell yourself that in a couple of hours the whole thing will be over and you will be at home.

Out of defiance I had granary toast for breakfast....I will miss that tomorrow.
Thanks everyone, this is passing the time better than clock watching!
An ex-dental nurse ?

The biter bit ! ! ! !

Seriously though, stop worrying, all my root work has been painless and more "comfortable" than fillings. Good luck.

Just got back, minus 3 roots.Gosh that dentist was brutally honest(not a bad thing I suppose)He told me when it was going to hurt-it did oh the meanie never used any topical anesthetic first, straight in there with the needle, and those of you who have ever had the pleasure of a palatal injection will know that I mean IT HURT!!!
Still numb so the pain(which he said I would have)has not started yet,or the swelling(which he again said I would have)but I can start to feel where he was trying to get the root out, just below my brain, not looking forward to later.
At least the worst should be over now and I survived :)
Poor you, at least the worst is over
I think I can beat you all hand down- I had 19 implants done all my top teeth and a few at the bottom towards the back.
Had I known how much it was going to cost [ they were done in Poona at a third of the UK cost], but had I known I would rather have had a face lift and there would have been change. They do look good though and I can crack nuts with them if I want to !
for attention of Dee Sa - Dee Sa can you explain what the implants are as my dentist (private) (when I let her) wants to take out two loose teeth and put them back again. Never heard of this in my life. My friend this morning said I should get them out totally.
It is possible to replant teeth if the roots are string and whole, my dentist told me that many years ago when I knocked out my front tooth.
boxtops do you recommend it.
I didn't have it done, connemarra, the tooth had been too long out of my mouth to make it viable.
It doesn't seem to have very good results http://ukpmc.ac.uk/ab...fn1cLphFZejNVCmR7s.20
thanks boxtops - that is ok. While I am on here I was trying to reach Dee Sa - she also mentioned she got her implants in Poona. Just googled there and what is coming up is that it is India. Is that correct.
Yes, Poona's in India.
