I bought a bar of carob confectionary but found it really horrible, inedible in fact, what can I do to make it worth eating?

I don't understand. What exactly have you bought?
Go to BBC Good Food (google) and look for Carob recipes. There are plenty there and very simple.
Sorry, I think I did that the wrong way round, it should be google Carob Recipes and then go to BBC Good Food website.
It's bitter, mix it with honey.
At least it can't harm the dog.

its called carob confectionary, dairy free, I thought carob was sweeter than chocolate, so went with the sugarfree stuff, hate waste so would like to use it if possible.
Cut your losses and throw it in the bin - with a health warning on the bag.
You could make brownies with it...that would sweeten it up . Disgusting stuff though. Don't know why they say it is like chocolate.

thanks everyone, its in the bin, lesson learned, I don't know why its allowed to be compared to chocolate either.
It's not a bad alternative to chocolate if you can't have it. When my son was small he blotched up if he had dairy and there wasn't much around in those days so I used to make his easter eggs from carob chocolate. He didn't know any different and he loved it.
It was a lifesaver at the time.
