Party Punch

I am having a party on saturday and am looking for a fun punch to drunk quick on.  Any suggestions.

Sangria's good and you can make it a variety of ways, but I saw it being made in a bar once and it was literally a half a jug of red wine, a can of lemonade, a can of fanta and some chopped up apples and oranges and loads of ice...I think there may have been a dash of something else in there too (spirit), but check out some sangria recipes online. Can be made with white wine too.

Used to know someone who made rum punch with a bottle of Bacardi, a carton of orange juice, a carton of Five Alive and either half a bag or a full bag of sugar! Tasted good though!

I would go with Sangria aswell. You can use cheap red wine and top it up with sprite or 7up, a bit of orange juice and for extra kick add brandy.  It is very strong and doesn't take long to get drunk!!  Another fun option is to make vodka jelly and have as shots. make the jelly as per the instructions on the packet but put in 1/4 pint of vodka in place of some of the water.  It takes alot longer to set though.

When I made vodka jelly the other week, I made 4.5 pints of jelly and used up about 65cl of vodka (sorry to mix my units).  It set in about 4-5hours. 

If you're gonna get people that drunk, remember to have a bucket handy, and a load of bread in case people need to sober up quickly.  Enjoy your party!

If any of your guests will be driving - make sure there's plenty of OJ or cola available.  Do not let them TOUCH the punch!  One glass of punch is usually enough to take most people over the limit. 

I'm glad you said it SteveD.  I was tempted to put something, but I kinda felt like this was a girl on a mission to party and that boring suggestions of "play safe" might not be so welcome.  But then when it comes to driving it's a VERY serious matter.  People want to remember the night as the night of Dawn's party, not the night so-and-so died in the car on the way home.

My friend had a party last week and she made punch from Peach Schnapps, Lemonade, OJ and vodka.  She had fruit in it which had been soaked in white wine all day.  We were all pretty jolly very quickly.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I am having a NON ALCOHOLIC punch as well for the drivers so please dont worry about them.
