Oatmeal bread recipe
3 Answers
My mum bought an oatmeal loaf in a local bakers and paid £1.75 for it. I thought I`d try making one in her breadmaker. As far as I can remember, her machine makes three sizes 1lb 1.5lb and 2lb. I don`t know what type of oats they are but they must be pretty fine in texture. There are quite a few recipes on the internet but has anyone got a tried and testing bread machine recipe for those sizes?

If anyone`s interested it was 1 1/4 cups tepid water, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tsp salt, 2 cups strong white bread flour, 1 cup strong wholewheat flour, 1/2 rolled oats, 2 tbsp golden sugar, 1 1/2 tsp dry yeast. That makes 1.5lb loaf but I mistakenly put the machine on 2lb and it still came out OK. Makes a change from seeded bread.
