I made a roast chicken on Sunday and there was a bit left over breast which has been refrigerated since. I forgot about it yesterday and we have something else we need to eat today. I don't want to waste it so, the question is would it be safer to make a curry with it tonight which will be reheated tomorrow or would it be better to leave it in the fridge today and make a curry which would be eaten straight away tomorrow?

I know I have to cook it really hot to destroy any bacteria.

It still looks really fresh now.

shove it in the freezer and then make the curry when you want to....
Cook it tomorrow, it will be fine.

Ah woof - it it goes in the freezer then it'll end up in the bin cos i'll forget about it and find it on the next clearout when it's beyond consumption!

Thanks carolegif - that's what I'll do - I have some samosas from sainsburys that are out of date today so that'll go nicely with the out of date chicken curry :)

And if I don't post back on Thursday then you know I'm on the loo somewhere!
Annie we had roast chicken on Friday and I made chicken pie last night with the leftovers - and we survived! If it's been refrigerated it should be absolutely fine to use tomorrow, enjoy your curry x

thanks april :)

we actually dont have that much left now I've stripped the carcase - only have any left cos No2 son was away for his school trip - usually the 4 of us finish a chicken at one sitting. Think it will be more Onion than anything else.
