Visited a cousin of mine last week and could not believe she was leaving out the above for the milk man.

I haven't seen a milk bottle in years - have you and where cos I do think the milk is much nicer from a glass bottle and would love to buy some.

Well, I never! I thought the milk was in plastic yucky bottles now.
The cream from the top of a bottle of milk was lush.

So it was Alba especially when the milk was colddddddddddddddd
Trying to get the bottles in before the birds arrived was always a challenge!

Come to think of it, if it's still full fat milk in the cartons, where has the cream gone?
Yes ..I get mine in plastic but SIL on same road has glass from the Coop milkman delevered...lol...still has bluetits pecking the tops in the icy weather too...<g>
you'd have bluetits in the icy weather Comm!!
Some people round here have it delivered (glass pint bottles) - but it costs twice as much per pint as supermarket in 4 pint poly bottles.
do you remember those half pint ones for kids - milk or oj in them - remember those at school, the morning break.
I remember the silly cartons of milk for primary kiddies. Stabbed with a straw.
Milk was vile, usually warm and tasted watery.
lol..albs....for your info and shh..don't tell anybody but I do..Heh heh!
United Dairies used to deliver round here but they stopped when demand became so little.
our milk delivery used to be every day except Sunday, then a few years ago, they stopped delivering on a Tuesday, now they only deliver Monday and Friday.
I love milk in a proper glass bottle, we have milkmen around here too, they use glass bottles as well, however the milkman arrives at around 9.30-10am and it costs a fortune compared to supermarket milk.

Im more irked at the lateness of deliveries than the cost!
Cazz, that would annoy the beejabers out of me. What if you had to leave your house empty from say, 8.30 onwards for commitments (work etc etc).
Advertise an empty house why don't they?
not to mention stale milk by the time you get home...if it hasnt been nicked before you get back!
I remember running home from school every Thursday as it was the day my brother and i had a 3d Sun Cap (orange juice drink) delivered from the milkman. We considered it a real treat!
Georgies, was that the one in a plastic cup and tinfoil lid?
I remember the ones (similar) in a triangle shaped cardboard effort which was nice when it was frozen.
I was milk monitor for a while at school...had to get the required number of bottles and hand them out at "playtime"...had a badge too..like here on AB HE he!
Our MM's were mini-hitlers :-D
