My favourite comfort food is Beano Pie: frie onions+chopped bacon, add baked beans, then top with cheesy mashed potato and bake for 20 min. Delicious.

no complicated cookiness

bish bash bosh - eat food
Cod, Chips and Mushy peas from your local Chippy fluff ! :-))
Guess it's a takeaway then.....................
that is what I had last night - scrumptious - with lovely fresh bread and tiny tiny pickled onions. Lovely jubbly.
Good question, I was expecting to have lunch at work today but didn't.

I have a fairly empty fridge and am thinking garlic mushrooms on toast or welsh rarebit.

What's in your fridge, perhaps we could share and come up with something half decent!

i know in the fridge there are loads of jars of sauces, mustards, olives, etc

pak choi, brussel sprouts and baby corn. milk, fizzy water, cheese and some ham, probably eggs
I've got some home made stews in the freezer, think I'll have one inside a giant Yorkshire pudding...................
fao Craft - many years ago when I moved here into my new house as it was at the time. I froze stew and it was horrible ie the potatoes were like cotton wool - I never frozed again.

think i might be off up to york...
Cook some pasta. Empty the contents of your fridge into a blender and whiz it up to make a healthy, if a bit weird, sauce for your pasta. Voila!
Cheese+eggs+ham...+ maybe some potatoes = omelette or fritatta....yummm
I'd probably go for an asian noodle soup, with shredded pak choi, sliced baby corn, maybe ham (but would raid back of fridge in search of cold roast chicken or search freezer for prawns).

i am now thinking pie
a loaf of cheesey bread and butter with salami and cold meats
Pasta and sauce from a pack. They're actually quite nice.

Sausage and mash, easy and delish or Bird's Eye Chicken Pie and mash, even more delish!
