ketchup on white trousers

Anyone know how to get ketchup out of white trousers, I've washed them but still have a faint trace ?Thanks!

Go out and buy yourself a tub of Vanish Oxi Action. Has to be the tub not spray. Mix a paste with the granules and water and put on the stain. You can safely leave on for up to 4-5 hours even on coloured clothes it won't bleach.
I promise you that it'll get any stain off even when clothing has been washed and dried. I use it all the time and wouldn't know what to do without it. Haven't yet come across anything it won't remove. Ketchup, curry, blood. If it doesn't come off first time around do it again. It will not damage the clothes.

I ve been wondering whether it would be worth getting some of that as have spray which works on some stains but not all.  You ve convinced me , happy face, am off to shops now.

Always happy to help. I can't remember if it says on the tub about making a paste as I think it just says about soaking clothes. But my mum said about making a paste and that's definitely very effective. I don't really add it to my washing as I don't find the need. i just keep a tub in the house for stain remover.

flash srpay with bleach works wonders on any tomato based sauce ,curry.spag bog,ketchup, especially effective on white trousers or tops ,just squirt wait a few minutes to work then pop in the washing machine,

I tried following the guidelines on the back but they said to leave for 10 mins, this only faded the stain not remove it so I'm going to try your way happy face tonight and form a paste and leave it on for hours, I'll let you know the result!

Buy a new pair of trousers, set the ketchup-stained pair aside for old.  The price of trousers today in the hypermarkets, it's cheaper than washing them.

Not when they are �40 Adidas towel 3/4 trousers, this is the first time I wore them and unfortunately stained them.

Jeez I'd have a huge pile of clothes only ever worn once if I had to dispose of stained clothes. I'm forever getting food stains, dirt, oil etc on my clothes. Animals and children don't care that you're wearing a new top. Without Vanish I'd probably look like a tramp.
