Halloween

This should probably be in seasonal, but what the hell. It's the first year that contact has fallen on Halloween. My step son wants to go trick or treating. I don't mind people knocking here and I always have a big bowl of sweets, but not sure I want to do it myself.

Other problem is that he has very limited food groups and only likes about 3 different sweets. Do you think if I knocked on the doors of a few neighbours and gave them the sweets he liked, and asked them if it is OK if we called at a particular time that wouldn't be a bother to people? I'd like him to have what other kids have, but at the same time I don't want to be a pest.

That seems a reasonable request - but make sure those neighbours don' t mind Hallowe'en. I hate it, I won't open the door.

That's what I did when my daughter was little. Believe or not one of the doors I knocked on was Jackthehats :-)

If it's a few neighbours, I don't see the problem.
As Boxy says, make sure they do Hallowe'en first. I stopped doing it cos I was fed up cleaning up the eggs from my windows.

Sibton, you can guarantee we won't be going THERE! She came by the other day when we were outside and told us our garden is overgrown. It is not sodding overgrown it is full of specimen country cottage plants, the cow.

We will do pumpkin lanterns (and then I shall make pumpkin soup, pumpkin cakes, pumpkin crisps etc etc). How do you make spider webs, please?

Mr BM is taking him to choose a costume tomorrow. I'm quite excited.

A tube of pva glue on newspapers, squirt to your heat's content, any shape you like really, (obviously better a few days before so the glue can dry) peel off and pin them wherever you wish. They are still flexible enough and quite effective in a breeze :-D
