My husband came shopping with me today. As a result my shopping bill, which is normal around £70, was actually £101. Does anyone else have this problem?

No, I couldn't afford for my shopping to be over £100, or even £70 come to think of it lol.
men are like children around the shop, always after snacks and useless crap ;)
It would be more expensive if he went on his own, if he ever comes with me he just lets me get on with it. He knows that I have planned what everything I buy is going to be used for so he keeps out of it.

Well, I suppose it does depend on how many you are shopping for, and who's doing the shopping.
No, mine reins me in

Exactly cazz! Snacks, fruit juices that cost the earth, Italian meats, sea bass instead of pollock, parmigano reggiano instead of cheddar........honestly!
Tilly, I like the sound of your OH
If you can afford it, I suppose it doesn't hurt once in a while. Shopping adds up so quickly, you spend a bomb and having nothing in your trolley to show for it.

I'm a sucker for buying the offers, especially chocolate. I do think that Internet shopping is so much cheaper.
perhaps he wants to eat too?
jno, you would get best answer from me, if it was my post

Jno, he does eat. It's just that when I buy it he eats cheaper stuff, not the best there is.

We've got a bag of 'jumbo honey roasted peanuts, milk chocolate coated raisins and toffee coated popcorn' ...........................why?
Trish and I normally shop together so I've learnt what I can sneak into the shopping trolley and get away with.

Dee Sa - I was in Tesco on Sundah and bought some thinly sliced turkey (commonly called skinny turkey in our house) and it was £2.50. It only costs £1.75 in Asda (or two for £3). I was gobsmacked.
