Why can't you ever get sandwiches on plain white bread?

Whenever I go to the supermarket and pick up my sandwiches for lunch, why is it always that horrible brown bread that they serve.
Don't get me wrong, I love brown bread but I think the bread that they use in supermarkets tends to be super tough and always tastes days old.
I always look for alternative, nice plain white sliced / bloomer but there is hardly any to choose from.

Totally agree pickoftheday . the only white ones Tesco do are dull fillings lke egg and cress. All the really nice ones are sandwiched between 2 pieces of brown carpet.
