My H cooked Christmas lunch today, he insisted. We did have a lovely meal. The turkey was perfect, sprouts just right, pork & stuffing great, broccali & mashed swede hw I like it. Gravy mmmm!
We sat down with plates brimming. Pulled our crackers & sat with silly hats we toasted each other with a lovely SA ros'e wine.... Then I said "there's something missing..." Yes you've guessed it... NO roast potatoes, no crispy roast potato's, too late now, first time in umpteen christmas dinners we've been without roast potato's.
How strange jem, I've just got back from a lovely day with my daughter and her husband. He cooked the meal and it was perfect, but guess what - he forgot the potatoes. We were all looking forward to the roast potatoes and none there, still in the packet in the freezer. We haven't stopped teasing him about it all day, although the rest of the meal was perfect and perfectly adequate we all moaned about no roast potatoes!
My H is very touchy about it Starbi and we're at my daughters tomorrow for another blow out, I have been sworn to secrecy. (somehow I don't think thats possible) :)
We also went to his brother's for the evening and told everyone there. We have not allowed him to forget it. Thank goodness he took it in good part and laughed with everyone else. But why the potatoes? Very odd.
had a lovely meal at my daughters and an hour later she realised she had forgotten to serve the cauliflower cheese that we all love,on the plus side i got to bring some home for tomorrows lunch :)
