Cook what your wife will like

Personally, I'd like a nice juice steak (beef of course), garlic mushrooms, sautéed potatoes and a bit rocket.

Hi rocky yes actually she would like it too however I don't eat meat and making it would make me vomm.
Are you vegetarian or do you just not eat red meat? I would have thought anything you can saute in a pan or start off in the microwave then saute in some sort of sauce in a pan would do it. Fish sauteed in lemon butter or chicken in some sort of creamy mushroom (etc) sauce.
Question Author
I could do chicken but I am veggy. How do I make the sauce please?
I`d probably just make a white sauce from a roux, add a bit of cream, dash of brandy and chuck in some sliced mushrooms. Or you could cheat and do one from just a chicken or vegetable stock cube, then the cream etc.
If you`re veggie, you could do an Indian veg meal (veg curry, pilau rice, tadka dal etc). That`s all done on the stove-top.
A big rustic hotpot cooked on the stove (assuming you have one).
Some fresh french crusty bread.
Nice bottle of red wine and fresh flowers on the table

What is a roux please?

Also have you any ingredients for a veg hot pot. Ps I can put meat in it I just won't eat it ;$
scroll down to the "diet" section and select vegetarian(4)
As you say you're in France, what better than a ginormous plateau de fruits de mer with extra oysters. Then you don't even have to cook anything!
Not sure if I have missed something but why are recipes limited in France ?

If you are on hols in France, then you may not have had pancakes yesterday. on Shrove Tuesday. If you haven't, then lots of different pancakes sounds wonderful !
Question Author
It's just that some ingredients are hard to come by really.
Question Author
Hi also they don't sell pancakes here I did have a look but could only find crepes which I don't really like
Honeydip, I apologise for my remark on one of your earlier threads.
A starter of chicory, blue cheese, pear and walnuts with a vinaigrette dressing.

Followed by parmigiana melanzane and a green salad.

To finish blood oranges with a spiced caramel sauce and creme fraiche
Honeydip - are you sure you're in the same France as the one I know and love? Fantastic ingredients for anything you care to mention. And as for not being able to buy pancakes - what's wrong with making them from flour, milk and eggs?
Question Author
Hi maybe I just cant find the ingredients because they are written in French. I like the idea of blue cheese thats safe for pregnant women right?. What is chicory and parmigiana melanzane?
Chicory is a salad leaf also known as endive.

Parmigiana melanzane is layers of griddled aubergine (and roasted peppers and/or courgette if you wish) with mozzarella and tomato sauce. You can almost certainly buy the aubergine and roasted peppers. Tom sauce is a basic fried onion with garlic, tinned toms and herbs sauce.
