Beef In Guinness With A Twist

I passed on a recipe for Beef in Guinness (from an AB'er) to a friend to try. All went well until she poured the Guinness in,she had bought lager by mistake.Anyhow she carried on and finished it,said it was very nice. I didn't know Guinness made lager.

She doesn't cook a lot but she had some with me and enjoyed it so wanted to try it. I suppose she just saw the name Guinness and bought. She's quite laid back.
