and onion too. Just cooking up a batch of stuff in case I go into hospital next week. I've made a steak and ale pie, two curries, a lamb bhuna and a chicken madras, a beef stew and dumplings, a lasagne, and a chicken chaseur. All they've got to do is some potatoes or some 3 minute rice or noodles depending on what they have. Luckily there already some puddings done, apple and and an apple and blackberry pie, rhubarb crumble, and a treacle tart. plenty of ice creams, I'm fretting too much - there's always the take away I suppose.

my shoulder. Got a trapped nerve and it won't be manipulated back. Just in as a day surgery, but I won't be able to cook one handed, so I thought I'd plan ahead
I hope your hospital stay is not for too long & hope it is nothing serious.
It sounds as if you have cooked plenty for your family and it all sounds delish,
I feel guilty now - when I go in hospital I leave my lot with a shopping list
Who for?
are they completely useless in a kitchen?

Hopefully I'll be in and out the same day Mrs O.
Good idea but as it's only a 'quick tug' you should be OK within a few days.
It'll be comforting knowing you've got the treats ready to go though!

No Mr Talbot they're not, but they are busy people.

In that case, you are fretting too much ...................there's always the take away I suppose.

I have to agree with mick, As adults they should be able to feed themselves, not to mention going through the hassle of even making puddings as well!

I would hate for my daughter to be an adult sat at home incapable of making a meal herself, I hope you wont be away from them long spikey.
Ah, I took it you were making the meals in preparation for yourself.

In that case, I'm sure as adults they'll manage to eek out an existence for themselves while you recover!
Afternoon.

Probably best to make the food in advance. Doesn't matter if they are adults, you don't want to be fretting about them not eating properly. Good luck with it.

It's to help me too! My sons and daughter can cook, but it's their reading week before exams, and hubby works such long hours, it's not really fair them having to come home and prepare a meal a well.
I think it's nice that you're cooking for 'em while you're gonna be away...that's what caring's all about, innit?

And if you enjoy cooking too, why not.

You'll always fret about them though, it's what mums do.
I have always really liked Cornish pasties, but maybe my taste has changed as I find the pastry always too fatty these days.

Best of luck with the health issues.
