I was thinking of making these - http://www.channel4.com/4food/recipes/tv-show-recipes/sunday-brunch-recipes/francesinha-recipe (without the accompanying sauce as that sounds rank). If I did all the bits in advance would they be ok to go in the oven later (maybe three hours later) or would they go soggy? (I want to do them in advance so I am not faffing in the kitchen when I could be spending time with the kids.)


Yes, I know they are just a poncey toastie but I thought they would be nice with salad and potatoes of some kind.

I dont think you could pre-fry them....
I reckon you can make the sauce in advance and the sarnies in advance and then whack the whole thing together when you are ready to serve.
Just stick with a French stick pizza sherr!
