What Are Your Buffet Nightmares ?

I recoil when I arrive at a buffet and see quiche (yuk) and vol-a-vents, then those tiny sausages, then chicken drumsticks. Does everyone like quiche?

Quiche cooked right is great. Now pineapple chunks with cheese on sticks...yuck.

Potato salad, yuck, don't think I have ever tasted it though (don't like quiche either, it's the whole eggy bit that I don't like).

Quiche isn't always sloppy - I cook a nice one!
Don't mind the little sausages, but they should have some sort of "dressing" or somesuch on them, not just bunged in a tin to cook and then transferred to a serving dish. I also loathe chicken on the bone, all those tiny bones to pick through (ugh) There are so many different little nibbles for a buffet, aside from the usual quiche, sausages etc.

Crab sticks are ok. But not from Iceland.

vegetable samosas, open sandwich selection (so you can see what's in them lol) spring rolls, salmon, dips and crudites, pasta and/or rice dishes :)
I quite like cheese and pineapple but sometimes it can taste odd if left out too long.

My horrors are definitely quiche, slices of veal, ham and egg pie, cold pizza, anything with salsa
Love chicken, prawns, cheese and pineapple on sticks...

Anything I can't readily identify and things wrapped in pastry that consequently have mysterious contents.

I would rather eat cheese & pineapple on a stick than anonymous gloop in a vol-au-vent!

I loathe the buffet. I don't think I have ever enjoyed one yet. Hate quiche hate cold onion bajees and spring rolls. Cold mini pasties and chicken legs. In fact anything that has been wrapped up early and served from the cold storage. I'll just have a scotch egg and maybe a beef sandwich with onion on it. If the food was served hot maybe it would be better.
