I would guess that it's already been cooked which only takes a minute or so from fresh.

I'd use it in curries or Indian side dishes.
The last time I used spinach I made a quiche

I love spinach, but have never bought frozen. Can be used as stand alone veg, goes in pies, pasta dishes, curry dishes, stir fries. It is so versatile, cooks in minutes.
I make potato and spinach cakes
Last week, I fried onion, garlic, potato, mustard seeds and paneer with a sprinkle of spices, then added a tin of chopped tomatoes and most of the bag of spinach. It was very tasty.
In the microwave for 2/3 mins, squeeze all the water out with a fork & use as desired...

Thanks for replies Abers!

Strange how I got the idea to buy this stuff and now dont fancy eating it lol.
We eat sweet and sour chicken stir fries and not curry as much as we did
Would it go down ok with that?.

Wow, more replies. Very interesting ideas for cooking it.

Cant thank you all enough x
Spinach likes grated nutmeg...
I tend to favour fresh spinach if I want to eat it as a stand alone vegetable side dish.

I sometimes cook gnocchi and add some frozen spinach to the pan, drain and put into an oven proof dish and dollop creme fraich over and crumble blue cheese on top and a sprinkling of chilli flakes, and bake in the oven.

If I'm making a tomato based curry I sometimes add a couple of balls of spinach.
I can't see frozen spinach working in a stir fry. You'd have to defrost it to get it to cook and then it would be too wet to stir fry.

So no using it in stir fries then, thats fine by me.
Will look again at all your ideas x cheers again
I prefer chopped frozen spinach. I add cream it when it's just about done. I always make enough to add it to frittatas/omelettes. I like fresh spinach raw in salads,or in a potato or chick pea curry.
I love spinach and cook it all the time. I prefer fresh spinach but buy frozen when it's on sale. Actually I'm never out of it.

I stir-fry/steam fresh and frozen, and the frozen comes out very good, never wet or soggy. First I thaw the frozen spinach and squeeze out the water. Then I sauté it with lots of bell peppers, onion, garlic and hot pepper.

Also, I put spinach in lentil soup; delicious and nutritious.

And I use the frozen for making samosas.

We put a a whole paket in a frying pan with a tiny bit of oil, it will reduce down in just a few minutes, I will usually have a plate of spinach with a couple of fried eggs on the top, maybe a couple of new potatoes to go with it.

Devine, and a very quick meal.
