Just took some frozen chicken out to defrost. It was bought from the reduced counter. I've also got plain yoghurt that needs finishing so I was thinking that I would make a spicy marinade for the chicken with the yoghurt. By tomorrow morning the chicken will only be partially defrosted. Can I put partially defrosted chicken in the marinade? Or have I got to fully defrost? If I had to fully defrost, this will put the chicken beyond its use by deadline.

Just do it!
If it's been in the freezer then the use by date is irrelevant as time will have stood still, I'd wait until it has defrosted before marinading.
I agree with Prudie.
