When I was a young lass (back in the 70's!) my fave sweet was Galaxy Counters (I think a version of them are now in packets of Revels).  I also loved Tooty Fruities and Spangles (oink!).  What was your favourite sweet/s as a child? x

My faves were mint cracknell. It was a 2 piece bar in a green wrapper. yummy. Also apple tarts. These were round, boiled sweets in 3 colours.
Way before you youngster, there was a choc bar called "NUX" it was wonderful but it seemed to get ousted by a similar one called "Picnic"

As a small child in the 50's my favs were these little chewy sweets called "blackjacks" and "fruit salad"

Mind you my second love was being sent for a fresh loaf of bread just baked and when I got home I had always nibbled the edges off all the way round it.

My mother used to go ******* spare

Awe cheers Smudge - I didn't realise this post had been round recently.  Some of the sweets in the link... oh me, memories! x
Texan bars. I would take a bite and then get a friend to walk away from me to see how far the nougat stretched! I wish they still made them.
Apart from the gorgeous chocolatey ones,I loved acid drops, and to date ,none of the old fashioned sweet shops have produced anything like the original!

lindapinda - you've reminded me of years ago when our girls were little.

We were on our way to Cornwall for a holiday. The girls were happily drawing & colouring in the back of the car. My husband said to me "D'ya know what I haven't seen for a long time - Acid Drops". Our little one replied "Daddy is it scary?".

We couldn't stop laughing & still do 30 years later!
