Apparently one's been unveiled. I don't if it was behind a little curtain or something.

...Yes... :P
Yes, if it was tasty and had a texture approximating meat.
....although I probably would not want to be paying £250,000 for the privilege :)
Yes but not if its tasteless like today's chicken. They said on the news it was tasteless and they had to add herbs . However it could be a way of getting protein in the future.
Yep, I'd give a whirl.
A normal burger would be pretty tasteless if nothing was added.

I reckon something like that would go on my 'only eat if about to collapse through hunger' list.
On Newsnight tonight T M Hayward the FT food columnist and author of Food DIY said "The cow has been fattened on un-natural grain to make it put on weight"
It is amazing that somebody like him does not know that mainly cows are bred for milk and the male of the species are used beef products that we see in the shops
Any cows over three years old are are too tough unless they are used for cheap processed meat like mince or burgers
It's just what people say.

"Cow" is the general name for the species, even though it's female (like duck, gander etc). Of all the objections to it, nobody's protested that it might be the wrong sex.

Given the utter tastelessness of burgers, yes, why not. Just not from McDonald's though.
well, obviously, that should be "like duck and goose"
Ermm - Actually much of the beef in the UK is grown from Beef Herds, and they are fed on Barley and Grain. Those cattle from the dairy herd that are used for Beef are also bulked up using Barley/ Grain feeding protocols.

Saw them on last nights news, priced at $350 plus each, don't think I fancy something grown in a Petri dish
I dont think I would want my meat out of a petri dish, I would imagine it would need to be artificially flavoured and surely the texture would be wrong? it certainly looked a bit strange.
It can't taste as bad as quorn burgers... OMG, that must be like eating a carpet tile.
As I understand it, it didn't much taste like beef until they added a load of other ingredients to flavour it. In which case they have a long way to go to tempt me. What's the point if they have to muck about with it like that ? Either they can produce a decent steak or they can't.
