Watching Lynn tanking along the streets of Cromer in the excellent Alan Partridge Alpha Papa film, in her Mini Maestro got he thinking -
it is literally years since i have seen a Metro or a Maestro - where have they all gone?
I know they were rubbish, but surely some must still be about - heaven knows there are enough KA's around, and that's the ugliest thing on four wheels!
there is a guy who lives not far from me, he has 3 maestro's in various stages of dilapidation, I love seeing old cars on the road, I was following a D reg cavalier yesterday, super stuff
I saw an Austin Allegro in original harvest gold pootling up the M1 on Friday, I overtook it as I didn't want anything falling off it and hitting me. I remember my local priest driving around in an Austin Maxi, and my uncle had an Austin Princess that he gave to my sister.
I had a Maestro for a while but wasn't keen on it. Well I had two but only one legally...the other I took by accident from the garage doing the service on mine.....it was the same colour though.....so I it drove for a while until I picked up my son who noticed straight away...and seemed surprised I had changed the car without telling MrG...
My dad bought a Metro for me so I could pick him up from the pub. My dad was quite a large man and he often got stuck in the back. Really wish we had smart phones back then...
