It's our 45th wedding anniversary, debated on a tin of stewed steak, a tin of peas and a single portion of chips from the chippy, in blessed memory of being skint newly-wed students.
Probably something a bit better, paella's a front-runner.
I'm going through a hate cooking phase at the moment, just cannot be bothered to think what to have or cook it.
As a consequence, we're having a shop bought quiche which I found lurking at the bottom of the freezer, salad, and some homemade coleslaw if I can be arrised, maybe potato salad if I get round to it.
Strawbs, grapes and apple for pud. Or maybe just an apple, too much of a faff pulling the grapes off the stems and washing the strawbs.
I fancy a homemade curry. Something with some paneer (which I have bought because I cba to make it today), some chicken, some bhajis (onion and mushroom). Although final menu yet to be decided on.
love homemade curry, especially those before the jars of curry sauce.
Mother used to make a mean beef curry on Monday and served it on Tuesday, along with chutney. (and rice and naan)
Down side, she put raisins in it which didn't go down too well with a picky brother :-)
Alba, BB chicken is chicken poached in a well seasoned stock and served on a bed of shredded veg (bean sprouts, pepper, carrot etc) with a spicy satay type peanut sauce. You can zing it up according to taste, I might add some finely sliced chilli to the veg component.
Enjoy your Indian feast Barmaid, I had a fab one last night!
We've got steak from our local butcher for tea! Wasn't cheap but so worth it! Just prepared the salad and then chopped the onions and mushrooms ready for frying! Diced potatoes ready to roast all so I can open the wine and enjoy a glass now :)
Sounds lovely wingnut, I'm much happier knowing I'm paying for good meat. There is nothing more disturbing than spending time, effort and money on a meal only to be let down by crappy meat.
