Cheshire, as suggested by Valerie, may well be the answer expected for No 7, but it's the name of a county, not a town or city. Might be worth a rethink on that basis, as I don't know how strict the setters mean to be!

 10 only one i can think of is MALDON ie.. he MAL   no longer DONE minus E.

5 I think this is Mansfield (as in Jane Austen's Mansfield Park)
