thanks rocky it is really my gums that are the trouble (and I dont want to go there) no I mean like chewing gum etc. I have found one Hollands and Barrets - that's another wee place to go. thanks Rock theirs is called breath check and made of parsley and other ingredients.
If you have plaque on your teeth this will absorb food which in turn will smell. If you really don't want to go to the dentist's to get this removed brush with bicarbonate of soda which will eventually remove it but not as well as it'll only get removed from where the brush has access.
You may want to try using inter dental brushes after meals, they are very good at removing food stuck between the teeth which will improve your gum health, also a mouth wash like corsadyl can help prevent gum disease.
Make sure the toothpaste you use contains over 1300ppm of sodium fluoride and you change your brush regularly.
Sometimes breath issues are down to other things than teeth or gums. Post nasal drip and /or digestive issues account for a lot of bad breath, if they can be sorted out then the bad breath will disappear.
Unless you smoke or drink coffee (I really dislike coffee breath, apologies to coffee drinkers;-)) I can't see you would have a breath issue unless you have an underlying condition.
Do you know you have bad breath or are you just worried that you may have?
Take care when you clean your teeth. Some foods soften the enamel and cleaning too soon afterwards can cause damage. Get a water flosser that directs a soft jet of warm water between the teeth and along the gumline, you will be amazed at what it washes out. Dentist will probably recommend Corsodyl as Boxtops says, if you are over 60 it would be free on prescription from dentist if he thinks it necessary. A visit to the Hygiensist would get all the plaque removed for you.
Hi Conn, do you have a lot of gaps between your teeth ? If you do then you really need to floss 2 or three times a day, or after each meal, this will really help your breath and your gums will also benefit..after flossing have a good old rinse around with plain water or a mouth wash if you desire.
Butterbun - last week when going to Credit Union - after having getting ready etc etc. Decided to leave sensodyne toothpaste on teeth - about one hour later my inside lips around my mouth started to peel - I was actually peeling off skin. Never again. LOL Must have burn my mouth.
No I need to go to dentist very urgently but cannot get rid of all what happened to me over the years and so my fear is so great I suffer great pain in my mouth. More times than not I cannot even smile.
conn, you know what you must do,,,,,,,,,,,,,,get to the dentist, ask friends family to recommend one, the other solution is, make an appointment with a dentist, tell them you have a phobia before any treatment starts, its quite a common problem,
Have done Anne about 3 years ago with a private dentist - and I was to undergo about 3 hours of work and I backed out. Too nervous and nothing has changed. I do get very low re my mouth - don't why I haven't lost weight as sometime cannot eat for days only mushy foods. :) no good at these but mean sad.
