Hi Anne, no not yet unfortunately. The stuff you recommended was prescription only in Lloyds although you can buy it online! go figure, and sqads recommendation of hydrogen peroxide was out of stock so had to settle for more Otex.

The Otex is making a fizzing sound so hopefull that will do the trick, trouble is my ear's sore from where I've been trying everything I can think of :(

Thanks for asking :)

you poor thing, I know how you feel,
I'll get there in the end :)

when you go to bed, lie on the ear which is blocked.
Do you think that will help? I'm worried it'll hurt.

I think it helps any wax to flow out, but if your ear is painful maybe a trip to gp. in my experience no one will syringe ears if they are inflamed/painful.
I was thinking that myself, I'll try laying on it tonight and see how it goes.

Thanks :)
Has anyone looked in your ear with an otoscope to see what is happening? When I have had muffled hearing and a pulsating/rushing sound in my ear, it is because of otitis media. The rushing sound was the blood pulsing through an inflamed eardrum.
I had a blocked ear of ages - Otex does help. I tried all sorts (of stupid things) and it is finally better. Hope yours sorts it's self out soon, x
Rocky, have you been to see your practice nurse? (I didn't see earlier discussion on here). Our PNs are trained to deal with ear irrigation - I hope yours are too....
I know it's wax build up because I need ear plugs as Mr R snores like a pig. The last time it happened the nurse said I'd have to wait 3 weeks for syringing.
all sympathies believe me,it's just horrible:-( Otex does work in the long run. The fizzing sound is good because it means it is working on the wax to dissolve it. Previous things like olive oil, softened the wax,but it still had to come out either by sluicing or working its way out. I'm like yourself, using earplugs cos of the curse of snoring! Don't sleep on your deaf side though! Put the drops into your blocked ear,and lie down on the other ear so the drops can sink in ! Makes sense

any improvement ?
Lol, nope! I've managed to the hydrogen peroxide that sqad suggested so I've just finished the first drops of that, I'm mildly optimistic as I can still hear a bit of fizzing even though my heads up straight.

Fingers crossed eh :)
Finger crossed x
