Mayonnaise Use By Date..
16 Answers
Going to have fish, chips and mushy peas soon and just noticed my Mayonnaise jar says use before Dec 13th, but one month after being opened, which I think was 5 months ago.
Do you think its OK?

Mayonnaise lasts a lot longer than the labelling suggests. The vinegar in it is a very good preservative Taste it - if it's OK then have some more. If it tastes off or slightly fizzy - discard it. I've a jar in the fridge that DD uses on occasional visits - it must be several months after the use by date. Not come to grief yet.
