Garlic bread and side salad?

green salad and garlic bread
oops we crossed

Warm crusty bread - not garlic bread as it will detract from the flavours of the lasagne. Ciabatta is probably best.  They're right about the salad though - it's perfect with lasagne.

If, however, you are a devotee of pub grub, i believe the traditional accompaniment is chips ;-)

Chianti

Personal choice really, but we usually have warm garlic bread with a green babyleaf side salad. Lots of Merlot to wash it down!

ursula's right about the chips. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this being served in a pub recently - still each to his own.

Try a specialty bread loaf called a stromboli - it's flat, stuffed with herbs, and usually loaded on top with cheese. Warm it in the oven. Available in large supermarkets.

Oh, and save some to wipe the plate clean!
