how can I thicken fruit puree? I am on a thick pureed diet and use Mc Daugalls thickener or cornflour for hot savoury things, but I like to blend up fresh fruit as a desert, but it always comes out to runny.
add strained yoghurt? But yes, if you are on a puree diet for medical reasons then you should be able to get thick and easy on prescription, although its not expensive to buy http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thick-Easy-Food-Thickener-225g/dp/B003C6A3QA
Thanks so much, I have been trying to manage this myself for 3 months, my doctor at hospital or the surgery have never offered thick and easy, and I am still waiting for an appointment with a dietitian, where might I buy thick and easy? I have never noticed it in the shops, and thanks for suggesting arrowroot, I never thought of it and I thought cornflour had to be cooked, but I will try it.
Arrowroot and cornflour both have to be cooked. may sound obvious but what about making jelly? You have to add a little water and then hot to melt it but it will thicken up fruit puree.
