I have some odd habits when eating food. Nothing disgusting just my little ways. I really do not know why I do it and until recently never even thought about it. But over the last few years I have been around a few people that have to tell me that my ways are weird and I should eat differently!
I find it rather annoying, if the way I eat was rude or disgusting I would understand and maybe change my ways but it is not!
So my question is why do people HAVE to comment? And more importantly do they not see their comments as bullying?
Frankly I don't give a FIG!!!

Because your being different and going against the norm of grabbing hold of the pizza or burger and cut it up instead, not usually done but not really repulsive as chewing then reguritating it for example just not what people normally see happening, difference for some people seems to scare them. The fact this person or people highlights it so much shows the...

You don't give a fig so much that you decided to post a question (?) about it. Mmm.

Also there are a lot of people that find eating in public causes them anxiety and I find people's comments irritating!
Just wanting people's opinions (though I agree on something where people's opinions are not welcome)!
Hey ho

Thank you excelsior! That made me laugh!
Why do you want people's opinions if you don't give a fig. Just get on with life and to hell with 'em.
When you slice your fig, do you secure it with a fish fork or just a common dinner fork? It's all in appearances you know.
What is it you do that they comment on? If it is eating with your mouth open or talking with your mouth full I would also comment (loudly).
I take the view that if people won't accept me for who I am it's their problem not mine!
We seem to hold similar views.
What is it you do?
Nungate commenting on a thread concerning "odd habits":)

Look it is silly stuff.
I eat pizza with a knife and fork. Also burgers! I don't butter all my toast I eat a square at a time!
I know it isn't a shooting offence!
I have done this for years without much comment but for the last few years I have a friend that noticed I eat slowly and finish my meal last and do I do it deliberately. And more recently have had lots of comments at work from a colleague.
But there's no getting away from the fact that quite a few people find your eating habits how shall I put it, a bit off-putting. If these people are friends of yours they are trying to be helpful, not bullying you. You might not like what they say but they must have a good reason for saying it.
Question Author
All the people that comment have worked in the NHS where equality and diversity is taught. These sort of comments goes against the ethos of diversity.

But that is my point they are not off putting!!!
They are just peculiar to me!
Errr, nowt odd about any of them habits?

Tell 'em to bugger off and eat how you like.
Gavmacp, Yeah, I agree, nothing particularly odd there on the face of it.
