It was called 'Pennsylvania peanut ketchup' and sold in co-op type supermarkets (I think it was part of a range of other 'american style' sauces - 'texan bar-b-que' and that type of thing. It was kind of a cross between peanut butter and tomato ketchup with a mild chilli kick. Maybe I was the only person who liked it and it get cancelled.
Hi, I am fairly new to answerbank and have come across your question whilst doing a search for this ketchup on the internet. It was absoluely FANTASTIC. I bought as much as I could fit in my cupboards and have been searching for months if not years, for more of this fabulous product. It was called Pennsylvania Peanut Ketchup and was produced for a company in London called MB Impact Foods. I am going to try and recreate this myself by experimenting. The ingredients were: water, peanut butter, tomato puree, sugar, spirit vinegar, salt, modified starch, chilli powder, citric acid, preservative and spices. although I don't know what quantities or what spices were in it. There must be someone out there who worked for the firm that made it. They should bring it back, now!
