Oh yes, I forgot about my uncle's sandwich of choice. A slice of pork pie!! I also like a breakfast sandwich made of a rasher of bacon, the yellow of the egg, half a slice of fried bread all dipped in HP sauce. Mmmmmm
Quite like a bacon, melted cheese and softened cooking apple toastie and for a sweet sandwich I used to love a jam sandwich, dipped in an egg and milk mixture (not soaked), fried and dusted with castor sugar.
One of my favourites is a cheese & potato crisp sandwich & one day I was preparing it & the sandwich was open & waiting for the crisps to be added when I discovered (ahh )we had run out of crisps, so being the clever sod that I am I substituted corn flakes & found it very nice indeed.
Much like Ron, making an egg, onion and mayonnaise sandwich but couldn't find salt, but there was a bag of ready salted crisps, used them instead, lovely
After reading what our cousins across the Atlantic eat, I may have to reverse my judgement of nimiety...
A favorite? Skip the typical bacon, lettuce and tomato (BLT) and go with a dark, whole wheat bread, a slim slather of fresh, homemade mayonaisse, a nicely sliced tomato, crisp, thick bacon and.... a slab of avocado... (BAT?). One can also add just a whisper of dark, German mustard nur, langzam, langzam .
