I was hoping to see a thread about it :-D

If it's toasted bread, what sort of bread do you like toasted?
Do you use a gas grill, an electric one or one of those pop-up toaster thingies which dry the bread out and sometimes you have to catch it?

If it isn't that sort of toast, well, cheers folks!!

hi albs it must be National Toast Day everyday here I'm always eating toast love it
It's toast day in our house everyday.

Under the gas grill, thin sliced white bloomer that is tanned nice and golden then left for a bit to go crispy. Lush with loads of butter.
Warburton's 'Toastie' bread is excellent. I use an eye-level gas grill (properly preheated so that it toasts the outside without drying out the inside), so that I can get it exactly the right colour. Then I add loads of butter and thick-cut marmalade. Mmmmm!

Oooh! Beaten to it, I see ;-)
I like a toasted current bun or crumpet if available. Electric pop up toaster.
Talking of toast
I liked the clue someone had once seen mentioned on here the other day - eggs on? 5 letters.
Someone else was talking about a big family meal and someone said, Let's have a toast and harassed host said, I havent made any ......
Love toast ..especially done at open fire, with lashings of butter, I'm drooling...anything on toast..thick cut....jam, banana ..cheese..pate..peanut butter...ham...tomato.... Gawd I'm hungry now....on poo plan diet ..no toast allowed ! :-(

oooh, Chris, great minds think alike.

I was thrilled when we got a gas cooker, decent toasted thingies at last :-D

So, I take it we are agreed, nicely tanned and loads of butter :-D

Read earlier this morning that burnt toast may, only may, be carcinogenic, I thought charcoal was good for you....
Sour dough straight out the toaster and spread quickly with Rachel's lightly salted butter and eaten immediately whilst preparing the second slice.

Toast, for me, must be buttered and eaten immediately. Cold toast buttered is an abomination and evil in my book!

lol Grassy, like it!
I'm not too bothered about what bread I use for Toast, but I must be in the mood for Toast - whish is rare. I do love the more square breads for toast though.

We have an electric grill - I love watching it toast the bread not sure why I find this so fascinating!
Toasted crumpets, toasted tea cakes, toasted hot cross buns...yum yum..

hey Queenie xx :-)
Have been reading your posts, hope hand is improving (silly dad)

oooh, have now got Ian Dury singing Toast as an ear-wrom now :-D
Love toast .Proper bread from the independent baker. None of this supermarket pap!
Bloomer loaf ,thick sliced ,done under the grill with loads of butter ,apricot jam and quark.
I've a pop-up toaster - we don't have a gas supply here & the chances of my getting an eye-level grill are practically zero!

Is there anything that doesn't fit with toast? Favourite - Marmite & peanut butter washed down with cold milk or hot tea, either works. Am hungry now...
Sorry, missed a bit - any "square-cut" loaf'll do me fine
Hi Alba :) yeah its ok at the moment, was sore this morning as my hand was in and out of cold water but its ok at the moment :)

oooh, don't forget kippers on toast, or sardines on toast (if you like fish)

the older alba likes Nutella on his toast
Giant Chocolate Buttons on toast for me and another fave is Apricot Conserve......mmmmmmmmmm
I adore toast, done in the toaster, proper bread like a wonky cut bit of farmhouse with real butter. Favourite topping is a rich dark marmalade but also like honey, golden syrup, cherry jam.
