I'm hoping an expert could advise if this is ready to put into compost yet?
Never have I ever had an avocado seed sprout to date, so excited!

Cheers 237SJ, great link, looks like I'll have to wait a few more weeks yet :-)
Good luck. I wouldn`t mind trying that myself.
I used to do that a lot...years ago. I should again...I eat so many avocados,I would have a jungle!

Love avocados, wonder if it will ever fruit? hmm....
it won't get the right conditions to fruit if you're in the chilly UK, Peas. Avocados like mediterranean climates. However your one will love a nice windowsill and will simply keep growing to fill up the compost available. I've had them 3 or 4 feet tall in the past.

I s'pose it will make for just a nice house plant then mosiac.
If I talk nicely to it, and feed it lots of jammy toast it still wouldn't give me an avocado? Ah well :-)
They take about 7years to fruit.
