All I can think of at the moment is that 'carrot-top' probably means that one of the words is 'ginger' but it would probably be easier to go further with a little more information from you.

Well, I can't argue with that Svejk but 'carrot-top' is also used to refer to someone with ginger hair.

As before, it would help to know the theme of the quiz (if that's what it is) but, if (for example) we're seeking someone's name, 'Solomon' could give us 'Wiseman'.
